Studio Policies: Shipping & Returns
The Artisan Process
At Made for This, we believe heirloom quality takes time. Every piece in our Appliqué Series, Birth Bouquet Series, and Postcard Series is individually prepared in our Jacksonville studio. To ensure your garment lasts for years, we perform a specialized preparation for every order:
-
Studio Laundering: We pre-wash and pre-shrink both the Comfort Colors® base and our premium quilting cottons before embroidery begins. This prevents the puckering due to shrinkage. Because we well knit garments, you may still experience natural ripples around the embroidery after drying; this should go away with a good press.
-
Precision Digitizing: Your custom titles, birth florals, and handwriting samples are hand-digitized and stitched with exclusive Madeira Frosted Matt threads for an authentic, light-absorbing finish.
Shipping & Studio Timeline
-
Current Lead Time: Each heirloom is made-to-order. Please allow 7–14 business days for Custom Postcards and Birth Bouquets (Monday–Friday) for your order to be processed, laundered, and stitched before it is packaged for shipping. 5-7 business days is the current turn around time for all other items--Mini Birth Bouquets, Mama shirts, and Virtue Bouquet.
-
Free Basic Shipping: We are pleased to offer Free Standard Shipping on all orders.
-
Tracking: You will receive an automated email with tracking information the moment your order leaves our studio.
-
Carrier Times: Please note that choosing a paid "Priority" or "Express" shipping method at checkout only speeds up the time the carrier takes to deliver the package; it does not shorten our 10–14 day studio production window.
Returns & Personalization
Due to the highly personalized, made-to-order nature of our collections—including custom titles (Mama, Nana, etc.), specific birth month florals, and one-of-a-kind handwriting recreations—we do not accept returns or exchanges.
-
Cancellations: We offer a 24-hour grace period after an order is placed. Once your garment has entered our studio laundering and preparation phase, the order is final.
-
The Heirloom Guarantee: While we cannot accept returns for "change of heart" or sizing errors (please see the Fit & Sizing guide on each product page), your satisfaction is essential. If your item arrives with a structural defect or was damaged in transit, please contact us at [Your Email] within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the issue.
A Note on Natural Variation
Because we work with garment-dyed fabrics and genuine quilting cottons, slight variations in saturation and texture are expected. These are not defects, but rather the hallmark of a naturalist aesthetic—making your piece as unique as the handwriting or the field flowers that inspired it.
